Quarter 3 Leadership Update

Dear City Awakening Family,

We’re almost three-quarters finished with 2023, and it’s been a fruitful year of focusing on growing our theology. Our Romans series proved to be rich with theological content, and our Psalms series is proving to be rich with practical everyday life encouragement. If you study the Psalms we’re teaching, if you pray the Psalms with raw emotions like their authors, it can transform your prayer life and give you melodies of encouragement for everyday life.

Speaking of encouragement, I believe we’re in a new season of growth for our church. I believe the Lord is transitioning us from a season of laying a solid foundation, to a season of growing for greater gospel impact in our city. This became further affirmed when the Lord answered a yearlong prayer to hire a Worship Pastor and City Kids Director.

We were patiently waiting for the Lord to bring us the right people, at the right time, and the Lord brought us Robbie and Savannah Alderman. Many of you haven’t had the chance to get to know them like I have, so I asked them to share a little about their story so you could get to know them too. When you’re done reading their story, please take a few minutes to pray for them, pray for their family, and praise God for answering a yearlong prayer for these ministry positions.

King Solomon wrote in Psalm 127:1, “Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” We’re in a new season of building on the foundation we’ve laid, but let’s not fool ourselves into thinking we can build without the Lord. Instead let’s pray, and build as we pray!

Reach People, Reach The World,

Pastor Louis Tamburro III
